This special gift that our Lord gave us,
being hope for the people
of our time,
grows within us
as we forget ourselves
and fill with His presence:
the Father, who loves us endlessly,
the Son, who teaches us His Word,
and the Holy Ghost, who leads us
towards new paths and new things.
We share hope
and help the people of our time
to cultivate it within them,
if we recognise that God lives within us
and that we are free of any judgement,
resentment, rivalry;
if we learn to live
according to the evangelical Beatitudes:
pure in our hearts, meek, humble,
in peace and for peace.
«Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.”» (Luke 6, 20-23a).
