Serving peace

Isaiah announces a time

in which weapons will be turned

into work tools.

Prophets speak in the name of God,

thus peace is possible,

but men should want it.

Peace will be possible,

if there is reconciliation

and mutual forgiveness,

if hate vanishes

and respect

harmony and kindness flourish.

We dedicate our life

and our prayer to fighting against the shadow of war,

hunger, unemployment and apathy,

and especially against the shadows within us,

so that peace can flourish among men

as a gift of God.

We commit to peace with all our hearts,

free of words like "enemy", "anger" and “possession",

and full of forgiveness.

«Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.» (Matthew 5, 9)

«Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.» (Psalms 85, 9-14)
