All the children of the Arsenal of Peace received a very special visit at Epiphany. The imaginary old woman who brings gifts to good children in Italian tradition has been replaced by Alessio Ferramosca’s family. Alessio was a Juventus foot-ball player who drowned on the 15th December 2006 in Vinovo (Turin), together with his friend Riccardo Neri.
Everybody was touched by the words of Enzo – Alessio’s brother – who said that his family and he wanted to keep Alessio’s memory alive giving presents to the less fortunate children, guests of different communities in the city.
“Alessio loved presents very much, that’s why we want to keep his memory alive giving presents to other children. And we will do it again in the future. We are thinking of setting up a solidarity association”. Alessio’ smiling face peeped out from every parcel with the words: “a young champion will be always with you. Be always happy. Merry Christmas from Alessio”. And it seemed to everybody that children’ smiles reflected Alessio’smile.
Alessio, the young champion on the foot-ball field is now the Angel of the Children.
