DAVID CROSBY - HERO
How many lives does David Crosby have? It seems like a century ago he played Mr. Tambourine Man with The Byrds and now he's a rather fat old gentleman who looks like Santa Claus, with a life that feels like a fantasy saga behind him. Given up for dead at least a couple of times, he always got up strongly. Crosby truly invented legendary music, with equally legendary bands, but also as a soloist. Here he hypnotizes you with the always equal turn of the chords and captivates you with his magical and enveloping voice. The choirs are Phil Collins, a sweet and powerful ballad. Legend
RICHARD BONA - OR BETA OR SIBA
How much Africa in this song. He is Richard Bona, a Cameroonian, extraordinary bassist and very good singer, who puts on a stratospheric piece, dominated by the tone of the bass and the swiping note that he produces. An anomalous sound but very fascinating (at least for me), with an African flavor, yes, but also South American. I would give I don't know what to be able to play like him. Exotic
PETER KATER & CARLOS R. NAKAI - IF MEN WERE AT PEACE
What binds a German pianist to an American Indian flutist? What music can there be in common between two cultures so alien and distant? What language do they speak when they play together? This passage is the answer. Indeed, not only this song but the series of records that Peter Kater and Carlos R. Nakai have made in recent years. A music that crosses and welds two cultures, which binds the spiritual and the wild, metropolis and large spaces, body and soul. Great pathos, pure emotion
