One of the most anticipated shows of the new theater season is Diari d'amore. Dialogue | Strawberry and Cream which will see Nanni Moretti making his debut as a theater director. For this occasion the director has chosen to stage two comedies by Natalia Ginzburg to explore, with ironic disenchantment, those now resigned domestic intimacies, where conflicts have given way to indifference, emotional fatuousness and moral mediocrity.
Natalia Ginzburg plays with the values dear to bourgeois society: marriage, fidelity, motherhood, friendship are treated with words of a levity that reveals all their fragilities. Nanni Moretti chooses Natalia Ginzburg's "theatre of chatter" to put us in front of a mirror, which shows us inadequate, indifferent spectators in the face of the complexity and tragedies of life. On stage, a cast of champions of Italian theatre, led by Valerio Binasco and Daria Deflorian.
The show, the result of an international co-production, will make its national premiere at the Teatro Carignano in Turin from 9 to 29 October 2023 and will then be repeated in Bologna, Milan, Naples, Rome before arriving in Paris in June.
