The enigmatic Serra do Roncador, located in the 15th parallel south, east of Mato Grosso, is the natural divider of the waters between the Araguaia and Xingu rivers.

Barra do Garças is the neighboring urban center which, with its mysteries and numerous legends, represents the natural portal that separates the technologically advanced civil world from the indigenous land.

The Brazilian indigenous ethnic groups live concentrated in aldeia (villages), confined to the spaces that were assigned by legislative decree supervised by the pro-government body Funai Fundação Nacional do Indio, established in 1967 so that the Indians can continue to survive the progress and urban expansion.

Following numerous sightings of unidentified flying objects, the former mayor Valdon Varjão promoted and financed the construction of this first office with the aim of attracting tourists and mystery lovers from all over Brazil, also thanks to the fact that Barra Do Garcas has been chosen in recent years as the seat of the World UFO Congress.
