Moon boot

The most iconic snow boots in the world of fashion were born in Veneto from an idea by Giancarlo Zanatta.
We are in 1969, during a trip to New York, on a train to Connecticut, the Italian entrepreneur is struck by a blow-up of astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to arrive on the Moon, and decides to create a waterproof and padded boot from massive shape but at the same time very light.
The model was made in a shoe factory in Montebelluna and, in a very short time, conquered crowned heads, musicians, sportsmen, actors, Italian and international stars to reach the general public across the board in the mid-80s.
Made of nylon and polyurethane foam, it is a very light shoe, despite its bulk, which recalls the famous muffled walk on lunar soil.

The underground movements of the 90s then took these boots to the streets, far away from the chic slopes and snow-capped peaks.
In the 2000s, big brands arrived in the fashion houses, intercepting styles and trends, making them a must have even within the home.
Ambidextrous and with multiple fits, Moon Boots are loved or hated, with no middle ground, but they are and remain a strong piece of the history of costume, as demonstrated by their presence at the MoMa in New York.
