Can you stop getting old? According to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, it can, or at least we hope so. In fact, Bezos would have invested substantial sums in Altos Labs, a company engaged in the study of human and animal cell renewal. The aim of Altos Labs is to deepen the techniques that allow the cells to regress and guarantee a remarkable longevity.

The first attempts were made using the techniques devised by Shinya Yamanaka, awarded in 2012 with a Nobel Prize in medicine together with John B. Guron for having discovered that by adding four genes it was possible to "reprogram" the cells making them return to an embryonic state. In practical terms, this means that in the near future, aging could be slowed down by grafting new cells into the human body.

For now, however, there are no tangible results that suggest that some companies are close to extending people's lives without side effects. And maybe it's better that way.
