Pedal desk

Years ago, in unsuspecting times, I saw a video of Google employees at the Mountain View, California office. Apart from the football, the armchairs, the gardens with the swimming pool, I was struck by a programmer who worked standing with the PC resting on a shelf while walking on a treadmill. In this period of smart working (for those who can), movement is increasingly lacking for those who are already at the computer for many hours.

Fitwork Station, a crowdfunding project on Kickstarter is trying to solve the problem. It is a chair and a desk equipped with pedals to move the legs while seated that turns into a treadmill to alternate walking and cycling.

The suggested program begins with a walk of about 3.5 km in 20 minutes while in the morning we dedicate ourselves to reading emails, continues with a mid-morning ride and a ten-minute walk before the lunch break. Repeating and alternating the pattern over the course of the afternoon. I don't know about you but I can't wait to go back to work by bike ...
