Rocco Papaleo, directed by Leo Muscato, is the protagonist of The Inspector General by Nikolai Gogol, one of the greatest masterpieces of Russian drama. A satirical comedy, written in 1836, The Inspector General makes fun of the moral smallness of those who hold power and consider themselves untouchable. A story, tragically current, where public and private spheres mix, confuse and contaminate. The announcement of the visit of an inspector general throws small and large bureaucrats of a Russian town into panic and, dialogue after dialogue, everyone reveals their fear and is blinded by it: a visceral terror, dictated both by base survival instincts and by reasons existential, which extinguishes all lucidity and allows opportunism, hypocrisy, rascality, cheating and the absence of good faith on the part of the protagonist and the other characters to emerge. After having made its national premiere in Bolzano, the show will be in Rome, Trento, Trieste, Milan in November and will arrive at the Carignano Theater in Turin from 9 to 21 January and then continue the tour in other Italian cities.
