"While working for Ukraine, I felt useful and free; when you work you need all possible hands, without exclusions or prejudices ». "I think it was a good experience that shows how in our small way we can do something for a better future". “I think we enjoyed working together for a good cause. The best thing in my opinion was helping people we don't know to find hope in this bad situation ». "Finally I managed to do something useful not only for myself but also to help others in difficulty." «I was left with the feeling of being able to do something, of not standing by and doing as much as possible for everything and everyone». "After having this experience, I discovered that even doing little, that is, moving food from one box to another, I felt part of something".
These are some of the thoughts written by the eighth-graders of the Don Bosco school in Cumiana, after having participated in the preparation of humanitarian loads for the emergency in Ukraine at the Sermig Global Village.

I asked myself: what makes us happy in loading boxes, in sorting food?
I believe that happiness is making others happy and feeling useful in making an act of love: love becomes a can of tuna, a package of milk, a box of hygienic products, a blanket.
Love can take many forms, but it is what we seek at the bottom of everything: digging into the boxes at the bottom helps us dig inside ourselves, to seek beauty and try to bring it out.
The guys who gladly make small gestures for someone else are the hope of a new way of being together, they are the sentinels of a better Italy, they are the dawn of a different world, which is possible because so many people are already experiencing it. through their good deeds. In all this there are no front pages in the newspapers, there are no awards or acknowledgments, if not that sense of life that makes us say that it is the right path and we must not give up ... This is the one, great battle that we all have to do fight!
