Shakespeare forever
Publish date 12-06-2023
Two Shakespearean productions will enliven the stages of Turin and Milan: Richard III will be staged at the Carignano Theater under the direction of the Hungarian director Kriszta Székely, while at the Piccolo Teatro Strehler Mario Martone will conduct Romeo and Juliet.
Richard III is a figure who has always fascinated by his violent, manipulative, solitary and dramatic current dimension; the Duke of Gloucester is undoubtedly one of the most iconic villains of the Shakespearean repertoire and Paolo Pierobon will try his hand at this role, supported by a consolidated cast of actors. The show will be repeated from 7 to 26 March and then performed on tour until 21 May.
Martone chooses a team of young actors, who are joined by some professionals of the scene, to stage the famous tragedy of the Veronese lovers, underlining some surprising points of contact with our present. At the center of the text is love, sudden and very intense as it can be between two teenagers, made even stronger by adversity, eager only to break down any obstacle to its own realization. The show will be repeated until April 6th.
