Room

Stanza comes from staying and communicates, strictly speaking, remaining still in a delimited place. In a sense it is like this: four walls, a roof, the world inside, the world outside. But there's more, thanks to a window and the door. You stay in a room, you receive something (what it is organized for, such as the need to rest or wash).

And we leave a room to do something else. Without realizing it, the rooms are the basis from which relationships are built, even when all these take place beyond their threshold.

Compared to the other situations of use of our word, there is not much difference. For example, in poetry and in music, the stanza is like the strophe, and as in the room of a house it constitutes one of the parts with which the composition was built: yes, it has its own autonomy, but if only it is not independent – with the obvious , poetic, ingenious exceptions, just like for certain apartments. In landscape architecture it is customary to call a room an open space delimited on all sides by barriers which, like walls, prevent one from looking beyond and therefore throw one's gaze towards the sky, or towards infinity. So they cast their gaze towards the sky or the imagination.
