Now or never

In my opinion it went like this: the distributors and cinema exhibitors have made their calculations and since the return of spectators (and the rise in takings) is not continuing at the expected speed, they have decided to move spectacular films and popular in the summer when cinemas are normally closed but which, as temperatures rise, can provide relief with air conditioning that not everyone can afford at home. Obviously it is a bizarre assessment, but what is certain is that the summer of 2023 presents great US titles that would normally have been saved for the recovery in September.

Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse
Second episode of a series that narrates the adventures of one of the most beloved superheroes through superb animation and modern narration with a plot that brings the film closer to contemporary video games. A revisitation of a character capable of resisting the transition from magazines to the big screen and thrilling new generations of spectators.

Indiana Jones and the Quadrant of Destiny
From the very young to the more adult spectators capable of remembering the debut in 1981 of the most fascinating archaeologist in cinema still played by Harrison Ford, still with whip and hat, still against the Nazis. New increasingly dangerous undertaking for Doctor Jones in search of an artefact that could save the world and here joined by his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller Bridge). The tutelary gods of the entire operation collaborate on the film: Steven Spielberg executive producer, John Williams for the soundtrack and George Lucas as supervisor

Oppenheimer
One of the most anticipated films of the year from Christopher Nolan, the cult author of Memento, Inception and Tenet. A biopic on the life and torments of Robert Oppenheimer, the leader of the team of scientists who in 1940s created the atomic bomb, the weapon capable of marking the twentieth century and beyond. Leading actor is Gillian Murphy capable of marking the success of a series like Peaky Blinders.

Barbie
A film that could be a bitter disappointment or a special entertainment. It depends on how much irony director Greta Gerwig will be capable of in front of the most famous doll in the world (Margot Robbie) and her platinum boyfriend Ken (Ryan Gosling). Secret plot but from watching the trailer behind the colors and humor you can see a revision of gender stereotypes and a dive into memories for entire generations of former children.
