Who will trust me?

A terrible news story involves a boy and a girl. Let's not go into details. There is great mobilization, people talk, hear, read. Suddenly a withering question: "But now, who will trust me anymore?". Inside there is bewilderment for all the times in which we find ourselves, at least initially, talking about the "good boy" who commits a terrible act. Here are our children who suddenly feel deeply questioned, even more so when, behind all this, there are emotional relationships. Who can reassure those close to me that I really am not like that, I won't be like that, whatever happens? Who can prevent someone from looking at me with concern, thinking: "Let's hope everything goes well"? This is not what we want for our kids.

A spirit of community and brotherhood is necessary so that the relationships between our children do not grow in isolation, so that a community of affections helps us grow in healthy relationships. Let's say that it takes a village to educate a child, and therefore we think about what network of relationships is necessary to help our young adolescents grow in balance. We grow well when we are together, we save ourselves when we stay united.
