The impossible does not exist

Thank you very much Ernesto and all of you for this welcome.
I am really very happy with this new meeting with Sermig, with friends at Sermig, with many people who look on with sympathy, who support, who are committed.
This is an important moment. When Ernesto Olivero just cut the ribbon, inaugurating this space, this building, concluding this fast path that created this structure of great importance for the territory, it was exciting.
Seeing the images of what this place was like and how it has become gives the idea of ​​how easy it is for Sermig to realize impossible dreams.

The real protagonists of this inauguration are you. Congratulations to those who played, to those who sang, congratulations for the splendid choreography that we have just seen.
Congratulations for the dunk, for the penalties, congratulations for the bowls. These were the events that inaugurated this splendid space, demonstrating how much this initiative is worth, in itself, for those who will attend it, for those who, thanks to the volunteers, will be able to play sport here in an open, serene way and thus growing in the ability to team up. , to play with others and compete with others, respecting and appreciating the achievements and talent of others.

It is not only this that is important and that will happen here, that is, the growth in sport which is a great resource. A great element of civic life is to grow in the values ​​of sport, loyalty, collaboration, mutual friendship, but sport is also, for a territory, a point of aggregation, of territorial cohesion.
So it is very important, for those who live around here, this point of reference.
It is very important, for a third reason, because it demonstrates that impossible things are actually possible, and this is the value of the message that today comes to the Mayor, to the President of the Region, to many friends of Sermig.
This is what I would like to emphasize once again: things that appear impossible are not. It is possible as long as there is initiative, trust, trust in solidarity.

For this I would also like to thank those who have contributed to this initiative, to carry it out: they have made a great contribution, a great example of how we live together, of how we are a community together.
I would like to wish you all the best for what will happen here and thank the volunteers once again, because their work is precious. There is a beautiful film, in the shoes of others, it is a way of saying that is very meaningful, like putting yourself in the shoes of others, as Ernesto said.
In reality we discover that they are our own clothes, we discover that the fate of others is also our fate, which takes place together with that of others.
This is why the volunteers are generous, and I am convinced that when they carry out their activities they realize that they give a lot, but they also receive from what they see and what they get as results.

Il saluto di benvenuto del fondatore del Sermig Ernesto Olivero.

Caro Presidente, caro amico, siamo emozionati nell'averla con noi in questa nuova tappa della nostra storia.
Il PalaSermig è il nostro ultimo sogno, nato per rispondere al desiderio di sport dei nostri ragazzi. È stato realizzato nei mesi difficili della pandemia e adesso è realtà. Qui, insieme ai ragazzi del nostro quartiere, abbiamo deciso di imparare dallo sport a fare sul serio nella vita.
Questa nuova casa per i bambini e per i giovani che da tempo ci seguono, interpreta un modo di pensare, un modo di vivere la vita, proprio come esprime la bandiera della Pace del Sermig, logo delle nostre squadre dove la parola Pace è sostenuta, avvolta e sospinta da tutte le nazioni del mondo.

Qui siamo uniti dalla passione per lo sport ma abbiamo deciso di viverlo dicendo basta alle discriminazioni, alle violenze, alle guerre! In questo luogo l'amicizia è sacra e ci spinge a guardarci con occhi nuovi, a prenderci cura gli uni degli altri.
Qui il colore della pelle è un dono di Dio. Siamo italiani, nigeriani, marocchini, venezuelani, dominicani, albanesi, romeni, ivoriani, egiziani… e sono i colori della nostra pelle sotto la stessa maglietta che dicono al mondo che la convivenza è possibile.
In questa casa la diversità è una ricchezza. Guardare le risorse che anche i più fragili sono capaci di sprigionare ci dà coraggio di credere in noi stessi: abbiamo risorse impensate da tirar fuori e da condividere.

Qui la competizione è passione di avvicinare altri che amano lo sport, è passione di creare relazioni buone con tutti.
L'avversario non è un nemico ma uno che è lì per tirare fuori il meglio di me, di noi.
Ciò che ci distingue, che sia la nostra provenienza, la religione di appartenenza, l'idea politica o il livello di preparazione culturale, non ci divide perché prima di tutto siamo persone che condividono il desiderio e l'impegno di imparare a stare insieme. Siamo fatti per amare.
Sappiamo che è difficile, ma ci crediamo.

È da qui che possiamo iniziare a costruire, è da qui che possiamo iniziare a cambiare il mondo.
Giovani e adulti che giocano così la loro vita cambiano lo sport, ma cambiano anche un po' il mondo. Ci crediamo davvero!
Ci aiuti anche lei, caro amico Presidente, a crescere in questa convinzione.
