His testimony, friendship and closeness enriched the Sermig with whom he actively collaborated. He wrote for Progetto (NP dal 1986) from its first issue of January 1978 until March 2001. It is he was co-director alongside Ernesto Olivero until October 1979. In addition to those for Progetto and NP Giorgio he wrote numerous other articles. A collection of his writings is contained in six volumes, published since 1998, edited by Massimo Foti.

It can be said that Giorgio writing for Progetto expressed the best of his thoughts and his personality. He can fully be considered a "teacher". Guided by his great faith, he left an original trace, focusing above all on some issues that were particularly close to his heart: human and social promotion, the development of the poorest countries and technology. There is an aspect in his writings that is particularly surprising for his anticipatory ability: the will and knowing how to grasp the trends projected into the future of people and society, which found confirmation in the subsequent evolution of numerous realities of life.

Below we propose two thoughts from Giorgio which can be a key to understanding the passages that will be proposed in this column, chosen in collaboration with Massimo Foti.
"Knowing, seeking, discovering is a profound vocation of man, who thus approaches nature and God. The responsibility for inventions lies with all of us who do not prevent them from being used against man; of us who do not commit ourselves to expanding democracy, participation, self-management".
"In others we find the Christ of the transfiguration before we find the Christ of the cross (...) to be more serene, to welcome others fully, to love better, to be more, to welcome more the first great gift that we has been given, the gift of life. Then the relationship with others will not be so much a relationship of help, a relationship of commitment, of effort, but of solidarity, of fraternity".
