Seekers of God

An important commitment, that of FUCI: to form "intelligent consciences of prophetic limbs". In Camaldoli, historical reference for the Federation, 80 present representing the various local realities, debated and definitively approved a program that was developed over the last two years.

I repeat some passages of the first chapter. «… FUCI offers itself as a place where people have the concrete possibility of feeding their thirst for truth; place in which to learn to listen to this restlessness that inhabits it, identifying its source and giving it a direction. Identifying oneself as part of the ecclesial community is an expression of the FUCI's vocation to dialogue ... The unique value of young believers emerges, specifically of forges and forges, which are a gift from God, thanks to which the Church is called to pay vigilance listening to the needs of all young people".

«Culture is increasingly distant from being a community and social product. Reality presents us with a picture in which a decline in the value of the Cultural and Creative Productive System is manifested. Due to our efficient and consumerist society, cultural products are not perceived as a universal heritage, on the contrary they are consumed as a material good, of little value and of short duration. Furthermore, the individual is led to look more and more at himself, blind to the reality that surrounds him.
The development of these individualistic attitudes impoverishes the bond that each can have with the other".

«It is essential to remember how forges and forges are called to actively inhabit university time, without being afraid of being credible witnesses of one's faith. Proving to be close to colleagues, classmates and friends means that from sharing the tensions of studying that curiosity can emerge that stimulates us to ask questions of meaning.

The fucino style leads to taking a vigilant look at the search for meaning, inside and outside the classrooms, in one's own field of study as well as in related and distant ones, in the federal context as well as in the university one. The Federation is a tool for renewing the gaze of those who seek the face of the Father in the studies and relationships that dot their paths".

From these lines, I take the opportunity to renew my most sincere best wishes to the friends of FUCI. As I have had the opportunity to tell them over the last few years and also in Camaldoli, on behalf of Retinopera, "we need you": you as young people of the FUCI capable of dialoguing also with the young people of the other movements and associations of the Catholic world such as Catholic Action, Coldiretti, the acli, in short, our 25 realities. You do not lack determination: it is up to us to listen to you!
