Photographing dreams

Liminality is a term used to describe the psychological process of transitioning across boundaries called liminal spaces.
The term limen comes from the Latin: it is literally the threshold that separates one space from another.
In a space of time of just 200 years, photography was born, established itself and spread, to then transform itself from a chemical process into a digital tool. Now - it seems - we are truly on the threshold of a shocking technological revolution that will make all the knowledge accumulated up to now in the artistic, creative and humanistic fields drastically obsolete.
It seems that – as it seems – it is true that soon all of humanity will refer to an algorithm to create almost anything, even those recognized as artistic, I am thinking of music, novels, film scripts.
DALL-E is a new artificial intelligence system that meets the needs of graphic designers, painters, sculptors, architects and photographers. He is capable of creating original and realistic images and works of art in a matter of seconds starting from a textual description. It can combine concepts, attributes and styles giving rise to an absolutely new image, following the user's suggestions, as I wanted to do, testing its potential not for commercial purposes.
Born as a research project in 2021, DALL-E2 is currently only available in a beta version released in July 2022 with ethical limitations to prevent its misuse.
According to the designers, the hope is that DALL-E will allow people to express themselves creatively. DALL-E also helps us understand how advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems see and understand our world, which is central to our mission to create AI for the benefit of humanity.
