«Everything stems from a friendship of over thirty years» so says the creative Gian Piero Ferrari about the exhibition The environment in pencil, inaugurated last April at the Public Relations Office of the Regional Council of the Piedmont, a prestigious exhibition space in the heart of Turin. The friendship is with Ernesto Olivero and with Sermig that led Gian Piero to donate his extraordinary graphic talent to the pages of Nuovo Progetto, the monthly of Sermig since 1978. The collaboration between Gian Piero and Carlo and Manuele Degiacomi (Ecofficina). Gian Piero made his intuitions and art available to him, Carlo and Manuele their knowledge to talk about environmental issues of great interest and importance for everyone.
The environment in pencil is the fruit of this common work: words to explain the great themes of the environment, climate change, pollution; illustrations to get to the heart and head of everyone, big and small. Together.
After so many years, the desire was born to collect all the material in a notebook and an exhibition. An opportunity to communicate, especially to the youngest, the importance of caring for the environment, and stimulate everyone's commitment to actively participate in this process of epochal change towards an ecological transition capable of respecting nature and everyone's dignity the human beings. The exhibition can be visited from 4 April to 19 May 2023, at the Public Relations Office of the Piedmont Regional Council, in via Arsenale 14/G in Turin, with opening from Monday to Thursday from 9 to 12.30 and from 14 to 15.30 , on Fridays from 9 to 12.30.
But the pencil environment is also a didactic proposal that Sermig and Ecoofficina make available to schools so that classes can work on the environment in a multidisciplinary, creative way and with alternative languages.
To download the notebook, you can write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, writing L'ambiente in pencil as the subject.
