Presente indicativo, the international kermesse to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Giorgio Strehler, historical founder of the Milanese theater, kicks off from 4 to 31 May at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano.
Twenty-five titles (many in Italian preview) by 22 artists, protagonists of the European scene, but not only, to explore the proposals that the world of theater is developing today in relation to the historic transition underway.
The artistic director of the Teatro Stabile, Valerio Binasco, continues his reconnaissance of the classical repertoire by staging Ifigenia and Oreste: a diptych of tragedies at the Fonderie Limone di Moncalieri, from 24 May to 12 June. starting from Euripides, but updating the themes, he will follow an ideal path of investigation into the pain of the children, the dark loneliness of the family and the weight of responsibilities. Iphigenia and Oreste are two victims, the first passive and submissive, the second destined for crime and therefore remorse. When fate brings them together, brother and sister will be able to free themselves from the burden of the past, from the sins of their own family, because both are kind spirits, but determined to escape a future of suffering.
