First of all, the negative slope has at least stopped. In this beginning of 2023, the data relating to attendance in theaters stood at those relating to the same period of 2022, but are still very low when compared with those from when "the world was different" that is to say 2019 before Covid (over 60% less admissions).
Here is a choice from the varied March proposals for cinemas:

THE RETURN OF CASANOVA by Gabriele Salvatores with Peppe Servillo, Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Sara Serraiocco. A re-enactment of Arthur Schnitzler's story of the same name where we imagine the last bitter adventure of an aged and lonely Casanova grappling with time and a changing society.

ARMAGEDDON TIME by James Gray with Anne Hathaway and Anthony Hopkins. One of the most interesting American directors who often recounted the experiences of Eastern European immigrants in the suburbs of New York. Here the story set in the 80s becomes even more autobiographical between Ukrainian Jews now integrated in the face of African Americans still rejected on the margins by Reagan America.

LE PETIT NICOLAS by Amandine Fredon. Laurent Tirard's previous two live action films (Little Nicolas and his Parents from 2009 and Little Nicolas' Holidays from 2014) had been able to beautifully reproduce the grace and humor of comics created in France in the 60s by the writer Goscinny (the one of Asterix) and the artist Sempè. Here the drawings integrate with the memory of their creators in a work halfway between fiction and documentary.

THE PACT OF SILENCE by Laura Wandel. A film directed by a debutant Belgian director who was able to impose himself at the Cannes Film Festival and run up to the Oscars. A story about the complex dynamics between middle school kids between psychological violence and outbursts of generosity.

MIXED BY ERRY by Sydney Sibilia with Cristiana Dell'Anna and Fabrizio Gifuni. Enrico Frattasio, known to all as Erry, organizes a real illegal activity. Helped by the brothers Peppe and Angelo, he begins to copy tapes for his friends, expanding the circle to give life to a company that will turn into an international adventure, transforming their lives thanks to music and giving a new meaning to the concept of piracy. From the director of I can stop when I want.
