Steely Dan – Josie
The duo Fagen-Becker - aka Steely Dan - has sown splendid music for decades, with a maniacal care of the arrangements and in particular of the rhythmic aspect of the piece. It is in fact on the rhythm that Steely Dan make the difference compared to similar groups, which mix funky jazz rock and melody. The piece flows smoothly but if you listen well you realize the complexity of the rhythmic fabric and the skill of the musicians to perform it. Then add Fagen's drawl vocals, Becker's free and effective guitar playing and voila… Steely Dan are served. Hello.

Chris Rea – Road to hell
Of course Chris Rea has a lot of charm. Not always and not with the same intensity, but there are songs, like this one, that grabs me from fear. It will be for his persuasive and seductive voice, the right low, which creeps into the notes, it will be for the guitar, with its unrepeatable touch, soft but not dull, that scratches your soul. The fact is that, on certain occasions, his songs are a balm, which communicate road and life, sweetness and courage, a sense of infinity to you. Long way to home.

Jose Gonzales – Down the line
Music "tranka-tranka", that is, with little guitar that in fact "tranka-tranka" for the whole piece and then a voice, rather behind, not in the foreground. That's all.
But this piece really has something, I don't know how to explain it but it is there, it produces a charm, it makes you listen to it and listen to it again, it immerses you in it.
Strange how music has this effect, maybe a full orchestra can't do it and then it is enough for an Argentine-Swedish stranger like this one to grab a guitar and patatrac, the omelette is done. Great song.
