Artistic Profile
The Sound Lab is the musical dream of the Sermig - Arsenale della Pace. It was born in 1998 from an idea by Ernesto Olivero (Founder and Animator of Sermig - author of the texts) and Mauro Tabasso (President and Artistic Director of the Laboratory - author of the music) with the aim of communicating the life and experiences of thousands in music of people who cross the Arsenal gates around the world every day (Turin, Sao Paulo - Brazil, Madaba - Jordan).
The Laboratory is structured like a music school (affiliated with the "G. Verdi" State Conservatory of Turin), a music and record production center, a recording studio, where courses take place (for about 250 students), an orchestra, a choir and various ensembles. The cutting edge (musically speaking) of the entire organization is the team simply called Laboratorio del Suono, a group of professional artists who share Sermig's dreams and commitments (musical and otherwise) for various reasons.
In 2005 the public workshop "From the bottom of the earth" (Ala Bianca / Warner), a musical work dedicated to John Paul II (in the sales charts for several weeks). In 2012 it was the turn of “Mama vol. 2 ”(Ala Bianca / Warner), carried among young people and in schools with a project that has involved over 12,000 students to date, culminating in two concerts performed at the Rai Auditorium" A.
