LaTasha è una cantante soul sui generis. La musica non è quella solita del soul odierno e nemmeno troppo di quello passato. La sua voce ricorda le grandi cantanti soul – una su tutte, Mavis Staples – per la sua durezza.
È una voce aspra infatti, eppure un po’ chioccia – roba che io aborro! – ma non spiacevole. Non solo Africa comunque, ma anche Jamaica.

GENESIS - I KNOW WHAT I LIKE IN YOUR WARDROBE

I don't know why but Genesis with Peter Gabriel always seemed like they came from another planet. Their music of that period is really alien: yes, that's fine, they do prog, but also no, because their music has no comparison with the other prog giants of that period, it goes somewhere else. They had a special magic, maybe it's just my taste, but they surprise me again and again forty years later.
Here is the musical idea that is spatial, truly stunning.
