An Arsenal "of the Word"

Despite the difficulties due to the long period of the pandemic, the Arsenal of Hope in San Paolo has prepared, once again this year, the "Continuous Reading of the Word".

The initiative - now in its eleventh edition - every year in September - which in Brazil is celebrated as the month of the Bible - brings together hundreds of people of different backgrounds, ages, groups and movements to alternate in the reading of one or more books of the bible.

This year, due to the covid, there were only sixteen readers - including guests, friends and volunteers - and they gave voice to the Letter of St. Paul to the Galatians, the biblical book chosen for the month of the Bible 2021.

The readings were carried out in various spaces of this large house which, even during such a difficult time, has never stopped welcoming thousands of people in difficulty and not even praying with the Word of God, two things that we consider deeply linked together.

The 2021 edition, which was above all an online event, proved once again to be a time "returned" to God, a time of attentive listening to the Word, only punctuated by the change of readers and by short musical spaces and moments of silence.

We thank all of you who continue to be in communion with the Arsenal of Hope in this daily welcome service, in the company of the Word. Feel all remembered and loved, especially by God.

The video of the 11th Continuous Reading of the Word, broadcast on the evening of 28 September, is available on the YouTube channel of the Arsenale della Speranza at: https://youtu.be/G-vD8ySQQns.
