In the 1920s - today - the world is at the crossroads of four crises: the pandemic crisis, which has not yet ended and which has accelerated and brought out evolutions already underway; the climate-environmental crisis, which in the summer began to bite into many areas of the planet; the geopolitical crisis, with a war that continues in the heart of the old continent; finally, the economic and social crisis, partly triggered by technological innovation, complicated by the environmental crisis, the pandemic and war.
The place of war - And the cost of freedom
by Vittorio Emanuele Parsi
Bompiani, 2022
After almost eighty years, war has reappeared on the old continent. The wicked aggression that Vladimir Putin unleashed against Ukraine on 24 February 2022 broke decades of peace and meant that Europe returned to being what it had always been for centuries until the end of the Second World War: "the place of war". How could such a disaster happen in "civilized Europe"?
