Serenity

Serene means without clouds. It originally meant dry, without moisture. A clear sky is made of a single, evident, compact, vivid colour. And it's dry. The language of meteorology then followed that of the soul, and expresses that condition which is without shadows of any kind. State of mind that is universally desired; yet in the experience of many it is elusive, not very predictable (which has something humorous if we consider that the serene climate is predictable). Ultimately, not very reliable. Therefore, the experience of those who feel serenity even in the midst of storms is particularly interesting.

What if it were true that a certain serenity can always be available? It would be a revolution. Perhaps serenity is close, reachable: like a bed that needs to be made that is made, or a dirty pot that is washed. In short, something that perhaps requires commitment, but which can truly be made present. It is absurd to think that states of mind can be manufactured, but if we considered serenity, instead of a chimera, the consequence of something wise, then it is a question of searching. Truths to contemplate: they will be there somewhere!

The kind that pushes the clouds away, or at least capable of enclosing a piece of beauty that nothing can ruin: as if it were always following us, somewhere, not the rain cloud, but a glimpse of blue sky to look out at.
