Conta Comigo

The Arsenale della Speranza has revived the traditional Conta Comigo (Count on me) meeting, now in its eleventh edition after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. È a meeting that has always wanted to be a moment of reflection, encouragement and action, dedicated above all to the young people who in various ways frequent the Arsenale with the aim of renewing our commitment to building a better world.
Preparing the 2024 edition we thought of proposing something new: a great treasure hunt to discover and reveal the secrets of this welcoming house. 150 people, including young people, guests, volunteers and employees, came together to try to meet each other, going beyond the fears and barriers that in everyday life risk becoming insurmountable. We literally tore them up together, opening ourselves to listening and meeting for example with Darley Oliveira and the friends of the Nova Visão Institute (New Vision), who shared their life experience, giving important motivations for the “adventure” of the morning. Darley, who went blind at the age of 1 following a tumor, told how overcoming barriers has become his favorite pastime, in the company of his faithful guide dog. Despite the difficulties, he studied, graduated and today has a job he likes. But Darley and his friends didn't stop at just words... They played a blind football match, explaining how this sport works and challenging the participants to blindfolded penalty kicks!
