DAVE POWER – SWEET LOVIN’
It took me a quarter of an hour to understand that the Dave Power who sings and plays here is not the David Power world star of Irish music. This one is instead the usual poor guy who makes a living from club appearances and a few records, especially in Australia! But he gets it, I must say. A captivating song, very simple, with the winking voice of our man that makes you dance. Four notes in a row, a guitar that tranka, a nice relaxed and sporty rhythm… Daily
BILLY JOEL – THE STRANGER
Historical album, year of grace 1977, he wanted to be the American answer to Elton John, but then he went down different paths. This album is still his best album and today's song mixes an electric ballad with two tracks of piano and whistle, placed at the beginning and at the end, which transform it into a dreamy, timeless song. Those tracks are more famous than the whole song. Milestone
GREG HARRIS – WILLS POINT
How beautiful!!! Swinging drums with accompanying walking bass, the most classic two/four that is known. Guitar that, as a timbre, imitates manouche and embroiders, embroiders, pleasing voice, "profession handsome man" format, horns that come out of their shell looking around, alternating the instrumental with the guitar and then accompanying it towards the end. Final refrain and voilà, the simplest and most classic American song. Delicious
