BLACKBERRY SMOKE – SUNRISE IN TEXAS
A signature rock ballad, with a nice push, that deceives you at the beginning, with only an electric piano and a sorrowful voice. But then, slowly, without you realizing it, it increases in blows, the tension goes further and you find yourself inside a wall of sound, where blaring guitars and drums are the grammar and syntax of a powerful song. The rest, as we know, never changes. But this is precisely the magic of rock. Forever
BRIAN DUNNE – DON’T GIVE UP ON ME
A romantic ballad, it manages to change pace halfway through and not bore you by dragging it out too long. In fact, our Brian really invents something: the percussion on the strings, enveloping choirs, bombarda bass reawaken your attention and take you to the end, with skill and craft. Nothing phenomenal, but to listen to often, because - at least for me - it makes me dream. Sustain
ALBERTO FORTIS - IL DUOMO DI NOTTE
Alberto Fortis has never been politically correct. His songs are sometimes pure anger - think of Milan and Vincenzo, A voi romani - and they have created a sea of controversy and censorship. Here instead he plays the romantic card, uses words as images and puts dreamy music around them that really makes you want to see the cathedral at night. Beautiful.
