MICHAELA ANNE – ONE HEART
Wow what adrenaline/melancholy!!!! It starts slowly, with bare minimum instrumentation, just the voice – and what a voice! – that stands out fearlessly. And then slowly the rhythm increases, the song begins to run and never stops. But then in the end, alone, the protagonist of the song returns: the voice. An all-round artist, I am savouring the songs from this album – Desert Dove, year of grace 2019 – one by one, they are splendid. Elegiac

SIMON & GARFUNKEL – SCARBOROUGH FAIR
Magic is a gift, not a result. You either have it or you don’t, you can’t give it to yourself. You may not have yet “matured” the ways to express it, but once you have them, you need to see if you have it. These ones have it, indeed! Three chords, a double voice… and here it comes. Thank you

TRACY CHAPMAN – TALKIN’ BOUT A REVOLUTION
Thirty-seven years later, the charm of this song remains intact. Tracy’s voice cuts like a scalpel, bass and percussion masterfully sew the musical fabric, making the uniqueness of the voice stand out even more, the lyrics lash like a whip. One of the most beautiful and influential songs of the last decades, standard-bearer of a musical style – guitar, voice and little else – that is slowly dying out, that we always listen to willingly again.
