The great magic of Eduardo

La Grande Magia represents one of the most fascinating and intense works of the great Eduardo De Filippo: questioning the concept of illusions and human relationships, this text offers a profound reflection on the contemporary world, addressing themes that resonate strongly in our present.
Forty years after the death of the Neapolitan playwright, director Gabriele Russo is trying his hand at this black comedy, at times dramatic and mysterious, and, making use of an exceptional cast with protagonists Natalino Balasso and Michele Di Mauro, offers an engaging theatrical experience, capable of making the audience reflect on their own reality.
When it was staged for the first time in 1948, La Grande Magia was not understood and aroused controversial reactions.

"Of all Eduardo's texts - says the director - I believe and feel that La Grande Magia is the most necessary today for the themes it addresses, for the relationships it proposes, because it is an unbalanced comedy, less linear and mathematical than the others, suspended and chaotic like the time we live in, finally, because as a director I feel I can give a specific and personal contribution". The show is on tour in Italy until the end of February and in December it will be on stage in Palermo and Turin (Teatro Carignano, 18-22 December).
