The freedom of meeting

The freedom of meeting with others, with other peoples, cultures, stories to rediscover the common commitment as builders of peace, justice, solidarity.

We talked about it with Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, Apostolic Prefect of Ulan Bator, Mongolia, the first guest of the University of Dialogue of Sermig. His human and pastoral experience has always been lived in the name of the encounter between different people.

His mission is proof that it is possible to find ways to know and recognize each other, to begin to live deep relationships of growth and mutual exchange.
The dimension of the encounter also resonates in the life of Sammy Basso, the 28-year-old who passed away a few weeks ago due to progeria.
For him, the limit was not an obstacle, but a precious stimulus to know each other better, to welcome and walk with others.

This also happens in Jordan, in the Arsenal of the Encounter of Madaba. Cristiana Capitani tells us about the very special days of this time. On one side, the echoes of the war that bounce between Israel and Iran, on the other, many small gestures of hope and friendship that do not surrender to evil and desperation.
Small lights that constantly stop the darkness that surrounds the Holy Land.

Finally, through the stories of those who attend the Italian School of the Arsenale della Pace, Marco Grossetti shows us how the world can knock on our door and ask us to meet it. A world made up of many faces, stories, experiences that push us not to close ourselves in our comforts, but to take an active part in the life of the community of which we are all a part.

Beauty will save us
Last October, a mega mural (50 meters!) was inaugurated at the PalaSermig, created by the children and young people of the neighborhood in almost a year of work.
A mural that, by erasing the previous writings scribbled on the wall, has given back to all those who live in the neighborhood the "beauty" that the children and young people experience inside the facility.
A way for the young authors - guided by the artist Francesca Tabasso - through the rules of the City of Felicizia to remember that even when everything seems bad, it is possible to do something beautiful together.
