Positions
Publish date 01-01-2026
There's something exciting about our growing children deciding it's time to take a personal stand and express them. They may be positions we fully or partially agree with, or with which we sometimes disagree. Emotion can be accompanied by concern, even a bit of disappointment. But let's try to keep our focus on the fact that young people must learn to express themselves. Let's try, as adults, not to adopt the attitude of those who "already know it all," because we ourselves have experienced moments in which we became aware of the reality around us and chose our position. Let's consider carefully that today's young people, with infinite means of communication compared to ours, need to savor the potential of being together in order to build. Let's try to discover in this desire to be there, to be seen and heard, an important resource that must be protected from excesses and not confused with them. Let's make the kids feel that we listen to them sincerely, not as if we already know how things will end. Let's ask ourselves what truly drives these adults of tomorrow, what dreams bring them to the streets. Let's put aside our disillusionments and worries for a while, to understand that the world of tomorrow will surely be different from today's, thanks in part to them. Let's start by repeating it: the path to goodness is not easy, nor made easy, but if no one takes the path, how will we reach the finish line?
