Artificial Intelligence has become like electricity, a constant presence in our lives. It began to take its first steps several years ago, and now, thanks to the enormous amount of data available, it has become an increasingly evident reality. The potential and fields of application are enormous, as are the risks. Humans, with their dignity and irreducibility to machines, must certainly remain at the center of everything. Specifically, what will the consequences be for human freedom in the age of AI?

In this issue, we discuss this with Barbara Caputo, professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin and director of the AI Hub at the prestigious university. With Mauro Tabasso, head of the Sermig Sound Laboratory and director of the Sermig Youth Orchestra, we delve into the relationship between art, curiosity, creativity, and AI. Thus, new horizons and new paths open up that can be traveled with hope.

Loaded with aid, loaded with life. Collections and shipments of humanitarian aid continue thanks to the help of many friends of Sermig.

Charity never stops, and cannot stop. People experiencing tragedies like war and poverty need help every day to continue living and hoping. All the boxes filled, all the hours of service donated are small gestures that, added together, make concrete help possible. We work with our hands, but also with our hearts and minds, learning about situations in the world, listening to stories, and feeling close to those who, however distant, need a helping hand.
Load after load of aid, it is truly possible to kindle a light of hope in the hearts of those who have received it, but also of those who prepared it. Those who support Sermig in its humanitarian expeditions know this well: the volunteers of the Global Village of Cumiana (Turin), and the Friends of Sermig of Bergamo and Vicenza. The last shipment left from Veneto a few weeks ago, carrying 5,717 kg of essential goods for the poor in northeastern Romania and for Ukraine, which has been afflicted by war for over a thousand days. In early 2025, 45,680 kg of materials left the Global Village in Cumiana, also destined for Romania, and then sent to friends in Ukraine. A major commitment that unites countless volunteers, young and old, united by the desire to do good.
