Against Waste. Food, Value, Future by Andrea Segrè
Treccani Libri, 2026
Reducing food waste, eliminating it where possible, or better yet preventing it and recovering surplus food, is now a priority, given that natural resources—land, water, and energy—are not infinite and the population continues to grow. Yet this is not simply a book about the food we throw away; rather, it is a journey into the way we inhabit the world. It recounts more than twenty-five years of research and civic engagement, weaving together data, stories, and visions in a path that connects economics and justice, knowledge and responsibility, science and everyday life. From the domestic kitchen to urban policies and the global challenges of climate change, the author shows how every gesture—a purchase, a choice, a saved leftover—is also a political and cultural act. Waste thus becomes the starting point for questioning the limits of our development model and imagining a different economy, one based on care and ecological balance, where the value of food is measured not only by its price but also by respect for people, nature, and time.

Michele Pellegrino. The Man, the Scholar, the Bishop of the Council by Pier Giuseppe Accornero
Effatà Editrice, 2025
We reproduce an excerpt from the testimony of Roberto Repole, Archbishop of Turin, included in the volume: “One thing has always struck me: Michele Pellegrino is a man profoundly passionate about Christ. Throughout his life he bore witness to this passion in every way and on every occasion. The pastoral letter Walking Together opened the eyes of the Church of Turin to the hardships faced by the poor and the marginalized. During the turbulent years of protest and terrorism, Turin was wounded, weary, and divided. The Church stood alongside the poor. In him we see the vision of a Church at the service of a God who is constantly in dialogue with humanity. His great prophecy and enduring relevance lie in moving beyond every form of alliance with civil or political power.”
