Long live freedom! A fundamental pillar of our constitutional charter and of our civil and democratic life.
A value taken for granted. Yet wars and authoritarian tendencies spread in many parts of the world remind us that a new commitment is needed to protect and safeguard freedom and democracy.
In the December issue of NP we discuss this with the philosopher Michele Nicoletti, full professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Trento, one of the protagonists of the Social Week of Italian Catholics in Trieste. In his analysis, the challenges that put democracy to the test, but also the possible paths to love it. A concept taken up by Guido Morganti who retraces the stages of the ten-year dialogue of Sermig with political exponents of all backgrounds, in the name of a common commitment to justice. Giulia Grimaldi instead, takes us to Germany to discover the largest European democracy, threatened by the extreme right of the AfD. Finally, Monica Canalis retraces the fruits of the Trieste Social Week and the common commitment of the network of administrators who participated, including good practices and projects.
