Forward, together

«One day peace will unite us all; one day it will be enough to count to three for joy to have a single voice; one day you, I, he, she will give wings to our dreams; one day every alley, every street, every window, many stories, many songs… will resound with a voice that lovingly asks for peace». With these words, the children and young people of the Arsenale dell’Incontro began the annual festival which took place last June 3, 2025.

Thinking about what we have experienced, looking at the joy on the faces of the hundreds and hundreds of people who participated, we felt firsthand that that day can truly be today. But it needs each one of us to become reality. It needs constancy, especially when times get tougher. It needs each of us to say with faith: «It is possible and I will start, it is possible and together we continue!».

It needs us to choose to be «constant together in building peace, in mutual help, in hope, in giving, in gestures of goodness, in love», as the title of the festival stated. To encourage each other not to stop in the face of obstacles and challenges that life throws our way, and to continue to seek together goodness, love, and hope. To help each other bring a smile to those who are sad, to those who are perhaps sick, to those who await us at home. What we shared was truly a river of goodness, which strengthened in us the desire to continue to be a home that welcomes everyone, together. Our children and young people ask us for this and every day they witness to us in simplicity with their lives that it is possible, they teach us that the true gift is knowing how to see a light in every person that deserves to be lit. Around them, there were many of us, volunteers and friends, parents and authorities, employees and consecrated persons, all united by love for our little ones. Once again, the word that resonates in our heart is THANK YOU.
