Always Armani

Giorgio Armani will forever remain an icon of Italian and international fashion for his refined yet understated style. He will also be remembered for revisiting the elegant men's suit and inventing greige, a new shade somewhere between gray and beige.
In the 1980s, the designer transcended traditional English tailoring techniques by eliminating stiff interlinings and lapel covers, projecting the shoulders outward, and creating a more deconstructed and fluid jacket, despite the use of classic, thick-woven fabrics. Within just a few collections, the jacket became the symbol of Armani's women's and men's collections, perfectly recognizable thanks to the intertwining of fashion, cinema, and entertainment that was a characteristic of those years.
Greige is King Giorgio's signature color, an unmistakable shade reminiscent of the wet sand of the Trebbia, the river of his childhood. A sober, elegant, sophisticated, and never predictable shade, it can serve as a backdrop for any other color and combination. As he himself said: "I love natural colors. They convey a profound sense of tranquility and serenity and are a foundation upon which anything can be built."
A man rigorous in his thoughts and fragile in his emotions, shy and elegant by nature. Let us remember that in February 2020, he was the first to parade behind closed doors to protect his guests from Covid, and that in 2022, he was the first to parade without music as a sign of mourning for the war in Ukraine. He was appointed Knight of the Republic and Knight Grand Cross, but above all, he was a man who worked with passion, care, and professionalism until the very end.
