Families

The Christians of the first community

were like a single heart and soul.

Christians just since one day,

united in the Eucharist, prayer,

sharing.

In a time in which many have lost

the joy of being Christians,

our Lord asks us with force

to be it again, full-time.

The love that unites

those among us who are married

and makes us fathers and mothers

encourages us to share

the life of this community,

to accept a complete commitment, without conditions,

to live the Beatitudes.

It encourages us to make good use

of the gifts that God gave us

and take on the responsibilities

He gave us.

The families belonging to our community

live in their houses, thanks to their work,

to be witnesses of our Lord in the world.

If they wish, they can dedicate themselves to the community,

full-time,

but always respecting their times

and necessities,

and especially those of their children.

They witness with their own life

that the first Christian community

is not a utopia.

Within our community,

married people have the same responsibilities

of consecrated,

because baptism and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit

are the same for everyone.

«They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.» (Acts 2, 42-47).
